The Categories Application allows you to manage the hierarchy of global and site categories which appear in the Atlas News Page Type. The Categories Application opens as a content tree.

How to access the Categories Application

From the Atlas Kentico main dashboard open the Application List by clicking on the white sun icon on orange on the upper left. From here, shortcut to the Categories application by typing “categories” in the search applications field. Click on “Categories” to open application.

Adding & Editing Categories

  • In the application content tree, click the plus-shaped icon to add a new category or sub-category. Add properties and click save.
  • To edit a category, select it in the content tree and select the “Categories” tab to edit or delete a category.
  • The “Pages” tab is non-functional
Note that the global categories are part of the Atlas functionality and cannot be deleted
