ATLAS Flex Menu

The ATLAS Flex Menu is for creating a central navigation menu and can also be used to develop and configure mobile navigation links.

What is the ATLAS Flex Menu?

The ATLAS Flex Menu widget allows you to configure and develop site navigation.
The ATLAS Flex Menu widget is intended to be used in the <nav> tag section on the site's master page.

How do you configure ATLAS Flex Menu?

Initial Configuration

The development/configuration team will likely place the widget initially. Users in the “RP – Power User” role will have access to configure the widget. Begin by navigating to "Pages" "root" "Page" tab, then click the gear next to the widget and choose "Configure." This will bring up widget settings with the following fields:

   A. Path: Select a node in the content tree that contains all pages that should show up in the navigation. This is most often "/%."
     B. Page types: Select which page to include in the navigation. Not all page types are compatible. Using single level navigation increases the range of page types that can be included in the navigation.
     C. Maximum nesting level: Select the number of levels to include in the navigation:
1 -- Single level navigation, no dropdowns
          2 -- Dropdowns
          3 -- Nested dropdowns
     D. Load Hierarchical Data: Required for multi-level navigation

Configuring Mobile Navigation

You may also configure mobile settings in widget properties. Begin by scrolling to the "Mobile Settings" section, and in the "Mobile Tabs" field set the number of mobile tabs. The "Mobile Tab # Icon" controls the icon class for tabs 2-4. View the full list of available Fort Awesome icons. You'll need to contact the development team to request access to icons from any of these sets.
The "Mobile Tab # Label" field controls the label for each mobile tab (shorter is better).
You may also add links to each tab using "Mobile Tab # Links." This field holds a list of links for each custom link tab (2-4). The first tab always contains the first level navigation based on the selected Path. To format link lists, use the "Unordered List" style and the Hyperlink tools.

Managing Pages that Display

By default the only types of pages that will display in navigation are:
     - ATLAS -- Content
     - ATLAS -- Page (menu item)
     - RP -- Content
Pages will only display in the navigation if the "Show in Navigation" box is checked. Uncheck this box to hide a page from the navigation.

Additional Configuration Options

In Site Settings, an administrator will set the logo, as seen in the "Logo" field.
For dropdown styles, go to the "Navigation Type" field. Preset dropdown layouts are available for each top-level navigation item. To enable this option and manage the dropdown styles, go to "Site Settings" Select the current site "Retailer Portals" and set the navigation type to "Flex Menu."
The "Small" (default) dropdown style displays the first level of sub-pages in a simple dropdown list.
This will enable additional fields in the "Form" tab to select Flex Menu Dropdown Style.
"Medium" allows for a single level dropdown menu with a thumbnail image and description.
The "Large" option offers a single or multi-level dropdown with a thumbnail image and banner image. This dropdown style is meant for sections that have an excessive number of links. It will also require custom styles from the development team to organize varying lengths of links/sub links.
